To elevate Black voices, stories, and talents by building genuine relationships and creating an inclusive creative community.
Black&Gifted was founded on June 1, 2016 by Terrionna Brockman with intentions on supporting up-and-coming talent within the African diaspora. While completing her senior year of undergrad at Arkansas Tech University, Terrionna was urged to bring a long-time vision to life. What sparked this desire was the lack of representation and support within various creative spaces. She sought ways to craft her own creative and inclusive community for individuals who look like her and share similar interests. Today, Black&Gifted continues to support Black creatives across genres and is driven to elevate Black voices, tell Black stories, and celebrate Black talents.
Black&Gifted values community, local and afar. A number of Open Mic Nights were held in the heart of downtown Morrilton, which brought diverse groups together to indulge in spoken word, live music, and fellowship. The 2018 Black&Gifted Awards was held at the Rialto Theater in Morrilton, Arkansas, and was a night of celebration of creatives across the country.
